SIGIRIYA

                                                    It is a large rock in matale district of Central Province. It about 10 miles of Dambulla. If you go there you have to turn of at Innamaluwa to reach Sigiriya. This rock has been the Fortress of king Kashyapa who killed his own father to get the kingship. He build his palace on this rock. Sigiriya is World famous for its Frescoes.They are drawings of women s with upper part naked. Most of the Historians called the are Angels who went to worship Pagodas and some others says they are the wives of King Kashyapa. It has a wall called Katapath Paura . In English we called it Mirror wall. On that there where many graffities. They were written by the people who visited Sigiriya long ago. If you go there you can see the ruins of ponds , palaces ,buildings and water trenches. These had been constructed by king Kashyapa.
